My New Desktop (Fluxbox)

I've tried a few times to create a fully minimal desktop that uses as little resources as possible whilst still appealing to my tastes. And I have to say I'm quite happy with my current setup, I don't think I've ever had a system this responsive and fast before. X3 login takes roughly 2-3 seconds

Fluxbox (window manager and desktop environment) occupies  2.2MiB of RAM
Conky (displays time and system information) occupies  1MiB of RAM
Tint2 (panel) occupies  768KiB of RAM

Need less to say thats not all the system is running for instance I run a few services like samba, bluetooth and networkmanger, xorg of cause so my system sits at around 100MiB of RAM may be a little more or less.

when I get my configuration 100% how I want I'll probably post my config.

WIP Black Rock Shooter Update #1

Well things are progressing, had to fix the atrocity that was her left arm. I'm hoping that there isn't any other mistakes that I have overlooked like I usually do. If things keep progressing then I should have it ready for coloring in the next few days.

Not entirely sure if the chains where a good idea, though I may be thinking that only because they are still in there early stages.

WIP Black Rock Shooter

Been busy lately but the time I had spare I I've been working on this, Kuroi Mato from Black Shooter. Still a few things that need to be done on this before I can say  its in the finishing stages. And no if you think that I've forgotten to draw it in, I am going to draw in the scar. It was in there in a few previous sessions but I had to do a lot of re-rendering so it got scrubbed out.

In general I'm happy with where it is going, but I have a few challenges that I need to figure out with mypaint before I can move on to the next image. Since I'm trying to make sure I don't neglect all the years I've spent drawing just because life is catching up with me, I've actually been trying at least for a hobby to do commission drawings. Of cause being me I set a bar for myself that I need to reach before I can put up any sign saying artist for hire.

  • Texturing, something that I haven't really done in while now but it is something that I need to polish  because it's of cause one of those digital artists tricks that allows for them to add more variety and detail in there work without the gratuitous amount of effort. Things like skin and hair textures and especially cloth because not everything looks like leather.... unless you are drawing leather.
  • Hands and Feet, nothing more aggravating... enough said.
  •  Color, I cant live in black and white land forever now can I . I have a few methods now and I've grown to like the way that I've been doing color to some of my latests works lately. Not just because i don't have to think about it till the end but since it is separated in a way from the drawing process I'm able to focus on the volume, shape and lighting without the colors to distract me.
Well thats enough from me and my ramblings I guess I'll get back to it.
